AYDF Public Program Opens Today

GAIA dance film, AYDFAustralian Youth Dance Festival starts today in Remark! As part of AYDF Ausdance SA is proud to host several public events from April 10-16.  There will be a contemporary dance performance of Lake by Lisa Wilson tonight, The AYDF Youth Dance Showcase on Saturday, a Dance on Screen Night on Sunday, all at Chaffey Theatre, and then The AYDF Riverbank Promenade Performance on Wednesday April 16 at Renmark Riverbank Promenade.

Short dance film, GAIA, will be screened as part of the Dance on Screen program. GAIA by South Australian choreographer Erin Fowler and filmmaker Nick Graalman tells the story through dance of GAIA, the ancient Mother Earth goddess and creator of all, from her sacred harmonious beginnings to the urban world of today where humanity’s impact is reaching a critical limit. 

 

Following the screening there will be a Q&A with Erin and Nick, who will talk about the creative process and making of the film.
