Calling choreographers 21 & under!

Sharp Short Dance is a dance festival that unearths the best up-and-coming talent in Sydney. The festival celebrates dance in all its forms and encourages young aspiring choreographers and dancers to showcase their work to industry professionals. 

Choreographers can enter one work to each heat, which are curated by genre. Heat One includes Jazz, Tap and Lyrical. Heat Two includes Classical and Contemporary. Heat Three includes Hip-Hop, Street and Cultural Dance.

This year, selected finalists will be awarded secondments with Sydney Dance Company, Bangarra Dance Theatre, The Dream Dance Company and Shaun Parker & Company.

Marko Panzic, director of The Dream Dance Company, stated, “This program is one of FORM’s best and that’s why we are awarding an industry placement with The Dream Dance Company. I can’t wait to see what talent emerges this year.”

For registration forms and more information, visit form.org.au. DVD, YouTube and Vimeo applications are preferred. The registration deadline is October 17.

If accepted, choreographers’ works will be presented in Heats 1, 2 or 3 on November 15-17 at 7:30 pm. The Finals are set for November 19 at 7:30 pm.
