Entries due for International Summer School

McDonald College International Summer School for Dancers and Dance TeachersThe International Summer School for Dancers and Dance Teachers returns this January to The McDonald College in NSW. Directed by Jacqui Dumont ARAD, this program offers Senior Courses (11 years to professional level) and Junior Courses (7 to 10 years) in modern, air-conditioned facilities. The deadline to apply for the school is this Friday, November 27.

 

The outstanding faculty includes Matthew Paluch, Jane Devine, Nicky Gattorna, Paul Boyd, Stephen Clarke, Lindsay Ellman-Brown, Kate Fitzgerald, Linda Grotto Fabbro and Olivia Jenkins. Alongside these returning faculty members is distinguished international guest tutors Samira Saidi and Alain Dubreuil. Saidi is a former principal with Birmingham Royal Ballet and is currently the director of the English National Ballet School in London. Alain Dubreuil is a former principal with The Royal Ballet and is the current ballet master at Birmingham Royal Ballet. During the summer school, Saidi will present a unique opportunity for students to audition for the English National Ballet School.

 

The Senior and Junior Courses offer two-week or one-week options. The two-week course runs January 12-22 and the one-week course is offered January 12-16 and 18-22. All participants will study classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, character, body conditioning and more.

 

Dance teachers have the opportunity to observe classes with internationally recognised faculty and participate in teachers’ workshops during Summer School.
