Mia Michaels coming down under for 1st time

Mia Michaels Live In AustraliaInternationally renowned choreographer Mia Michaels has announced that she’s coming to Australia for the first time to hold workshops for student dancers and teachers in February 2017.

 

Set for Melbourne on February 5 and Sydney on February 12, Michaels will start each day with a workshop for younger dancers (ages 8-12 years) at 9 am. The 13+ age group will commence at 11 am, followed by a VIP Meet & Greet at 1 pm and lunch at 3 pm.

 

Teachers, assistants and studio owners will also have the opportunity to work with her, as their session begins at 4 pm. Each day will wrap up by 5:30 pm.

 

Michaels, who is perhaps most well known to Aussies for being a judge and choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance (USA), is a 3-time Emmy Award winner. Across her career, some of the highlights include: choreographing for Celine Dion: A New Day in Las Vegas beside director Franco Dragone; creating movement for Broadway’s Finding Neverland; working on multiple world tours for artists like Prince and Madonna, and collaborating with Cirque du Soleil.

 

More recently, she served as the creator and director/choreographer of the New York Spectacular, starring the famous Rockettes at the beloved Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

 

Michaels has also held faculty positions at prestigious institutions of dance around the world, including The Ailey School and The Joffrey Ballet. She’s toured as a teacher of JUMP Dance Convention for many seasons. She continues to teach inspirational master classes worldwide.
