Sean Forbes tours show, workshop to Sydney

American deaf hip-hop artist to present show in SydneyAmerican hip-hop artist Sean Forbes is coming to Sydney for a performance and a youth workshop this week after recently performing in Wellington, New Zealand. Hailing from the music capital of Detroit and Deaf from infancy, his upbringing in a musical family led to an obsession with music and a career as a rapper, drummer and songwriter.

 

Forbes’ performances are described as a visual feast as he uses sign language, graphics and captions to express himself along with the thumping beats of hip-hop music. According to Accessible Arts, this is a performance not to be missed from an international Deaf artist.

In addition, dancers aged 10–17 years old should plan on attending Forbes’ youth workshop on Thursday, September 14 at RIDBC Thomas Pattison School. Forbes will share his journey, perform some of his hit songs and lead activities with a focus on rhythm and hip-hop. Tickets are only $10.
