The Space presents ‘Acetylcholine’

Diploma of Dance students at The Space School of Performance ArtsThree final-year Diploma of Dance students at The Space School of Performance Arts will soon perform a contemporary dance work as part of the 2017 Melbourne Fringe Festival. Students Romain Hassanin, Hayley Chong and Nicki Fraser will present Acetylcholine for three nights only on September 29, 30 and October 1.

Walking into an augmented dystopian reality setting, audience members will sit down and view different realms of communicative functions at play. These realms will begin taking them on an unraveling contemporary dance journey in a sequence of fragmented mirrored exposures. As the dancers embody the way different senses react through the exchange of impulse and thought, viewers should start feeling the pushing and pulling of magnetic tension inside their own body.

Acetylcholine promises to wake viewers up to consider the functions of those communication connections we make or break both consciously and unconsciously. Seeking to be authentic, fresh and perceptive, this contemporary dance and physical theatre performance will be sure to challenge and fire the brain at the crossroads of connection and communication.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.melbournefringe.com.au for $15 general admission or $12 concession. All performances will be presented at 7:30 p.m. at The Space Dance and Arts Centre at 318 Chapel Street, Prahran, VIC.
